An opportunity for businesses and other organisations to present a business problem to leading mathematicians for in-depth analysis with the aim of identifying practical and commercially viable solutions. View problems >>

First day 

Representatives from industry present their problem to a dedicated team of academics experts.

Day two – four

Mathematicians analyse the problem in depth, seeking to identify practical and commercially viable solutions.

Day five

Presentation of the work to solve the problem. This will be followed up shortly afterwards by a written project report.

Study groups provide a unique opportunity for academics to work with industry to come up with new ideas and solutions to real problems.

Academic participants with backgrounds in all strands of mathematics, engineering and scientific computing are welcome and encouraged to participate. The Bath Study Group will feature different problems that will be amenable to a wide range of different mathematical techniques.
